Homestead Conservancy

This conservancy was initially the inspiration of one of the residents, Mr. Derek Dingwall, who approached the Wilger Veld and Youth Conservation Club  for assistance. 

The area representative for the Gauteng Conservancy/Stewardship Association began the process of declaring this area a conservancy, which was registered in June 2007.

 The logo that we have chosen is of an Sacred African Ibis, which is typical of the numerous waterfowl, and grassland birds which can be found at Homestead Lake.

This picture was taken in November 2008 alongside the Blaauwpan tributary that flows into the lake.
