Our Committee
Welcome concerned residents, During the initial stages of declaring Homestead a conservancy, eight of our residents were involved. After discussions with our area representative, we felt that it only fair to give all the residents on Wilger Road and Alphen Park an opportunity to apply to join the committee. We will update this page when a full committee has been nominated. If you are interested in becoming a committee member please Contact Us Our area representative is Anne Mearns, who is an active member of the Gauteng Conservancy/Stewardship Association. Anne is a Laureate of the United Nations Environmental Global 500 Role of Honour in 1998. The United Nations Environment Programme ( UNEP ) awarded her this presitige tile for her outstanding contribution and achievements in the protection and improvement of the environment. Anne has declared conservancies in grasslands, wetlands and other natural areas. She has also formed a hospital and two school conservancies. She also delivers talks and papers at conferences within South Africa and also outside our borders in Malawi, Zambia and Nambia.
